Influencing Options Workshops

Each Influencing Option workshop is designed to teach practical, immediately useable skills.  Since skill development is a process that requires practice, each workshop has a recommended time for maximum learning.

Click to see the Influencing Skills workbook largerInfluencing Skills is a workshop that allows participants to go to a person with honesty and respect to request what they need and want. People learn both how to make day-to-day requests and more difficult requests for behavior change where there is history and/or perceived risk (confrontation). Participants learn to make specific requests, to get commitment to “yes’s,” deal with “no’s,” including emotional/provocative ones, to confront without guilt or conflict and to problem solve. Organizations find that this workshop provides employees with skills to resolve issues and increase productivity. This 16-hour workshop includes  Confronting Without Guilt or Conflict.  (16 hours)

Click to see Confronting Without Guilt or Conflict workbook largerConfronting Without Guilt or Conflict is a workshop that redefines confrontation as a specific request for what you want or need rather than telling the person what they did wrong. Participants learn to accurately identify specific issues that may require confronting someone, to develop the confrontation in three formats (assessing the risks of each) and to deliver the confrontation in a way that lessens defensiveness and increases trust. People find this skill allows them to address difficult issues in a productive way.  (8 hours)

Click to see Managing High Performance & Retention workbook largerManaging High Performance & Retention is a workshop that enables managers and supervisors to influence high levels of performance both technically and interpersonally. Participants learn to develop clear expectations and standards, to know when and how to coach, counsel, confront and teach and to hold employees accountable for their performance. Organizations and employees find these skills improve their ability to manage day-to-day performance issues and to influence performance to higher levels.
(5 one-day workshops—40 hours)

All workshops can be tailored to meet time, content and skill development needs.
